About CJS

Creative Jewelry Supplies explains the choices behind fine jewelry: how a setting holds a stone, what a diamond grading report actually says, how platinum and gold wear, and what to ask a jeweler before commissioning a ring. Our guides are written for people in the United States planning an engagement ring, a wedding band or a custom piece.

What we cover

  • Engagement Rings: setting styles, prongs, halos, three-stone rings, ring anatomy and budgets.
  • Diamonds & Gemstones: shapes, grading reports and labs, fluorescence, treatments and colored stones such as sapphire.
  • Custom Design: the custom ring process, platinum and white gold, wedding bands, resetting heirloom stones, engraving, resizing and insurance.

Despite our name, we don’t sell anything

The site began with guides to jewelry-making materials and now focuses on designing and choosing fine jewelry. We don’t run a shop, take orders or offer valuations, and no jeweler or retailer pays to be mentioned. Our aim is to help you understand a piece before you buy or commission it, wherever you choose to do that.

How we write

Grading terms come from the systems published by the Gemological Institute of America and other laboratories, and rules on describing metals, treatments and laboratory-grown stones come from the Federal Trade Commission’s Jewelry Guides. AI tools help us research and draft, and facts are checked against those sources before publishing. Our editorial policy explains the process, and we correct mistakes as soon as we confirm them.
